Jillian MacLaughlin – Big Brother Canada Season 1 (2013)
Amidst what was criticised to be a controversial win, Jillian MacLaughlin was crowned the first winner of the Big Brother Canada show in 2013. Jillian became the first female houseguest to beat a male houseguest in the final week of the show in the history of Big Brother Canada.
Topaz Brady was supposed to cast her vote for recalled houseguest Gary Levy, but the intense atmosphere of the voting session pumped her to vote for Jillian MacLaughlin, a mistake which was confirmed by video footage and recordings from the show finale night.
While in the Big Brother house, Jillian played a strategy of tactics that involves her having to always backstab and blindside all other houseguests.
In the early days of the show in 2013, Jillian found herself in a love square with fellow houseguest Emmett Blois. A relationship that never made it to the aisle but was cut short a few months before the duo featured in The Amazing Race Canada season 4 in 2016.
Throughout the show, Jillian was never given an eviction notice and she also won the most head of household competitions. A track record which is one of the most Big Brother Canada HOH wins by one houseguest till date in the history of the show. She won in week 2, week 7, week 8 and week 10. Ever Hyper, self-driven and easy-going Jillian claimed to have come into the show in order to ‘shake up her life’ after she had a recent split with her lover.
Before Big Brother Canada in 2013, Jillian Maclaughlin was a 27 years old dedicated teacher who lived in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. After the show wrapped up in 2013, Jillian kept her $100,000 for her student loan and went back to being a teacher plus owning and running a rafting company alongside her boyfriend, Emmett in rural Gore, Nova Scotia.
After the break up in 2016, Jilian went on to being an Elementary school teacher. She is currently filling her Yoga Obsession, a mother to Lauchlin James, a pretty son she bore for Sean McShane Thomas, a TV Bell service operator named Hire or Fire.
Jillian MacLaughlin is rocking her life in close relationships with people that matter most to her, cheering them through their happy moments while pursuing her fitness interest as well as her Teaching Career in combination with being a beautiful and deserving mother to a cute son. Nevertheless, Jilian still has Phobia for heights.
