Michelle Yeoh’s Oscar: Jet Li Visits & Congratulates Her

On Sunday, Michelle Yeoh made history at the Oscars by becoming the first Asian woman to win Best Actress. Michelle Yeoh’s Oscar win was for her role in the comedy film “Everything Everywhere All At Once“. Congratulatory messages poured in, including one from her good friend and collaborator, action star Jet Li.

Hong Kong film producer Tiffany Chen shared the news on social media on Monday, praising Yeoh’s achievement and performance in the film. In the movie, Michelle Yeoh excellently plays a Evelyn Wang, a Chinese-American immigrant who has to deal with a multiversal crisis. Evelyn must connect with other versions of herself in parallel universes to prevent a powerful being from terminating the multiverse.

Despite the not-so-much budget for the movie, it still captivated the attention of lots of movie lovers. Many netizens even stated that the movie was on par with Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, a movie with similar multiversal plot. Everything Everywhere All at Once now sits at about 107 million dollars in the box office.

The martial arts displayed in the movie were top-notch. Little wonder it caught the attention of Jet Li, one of the best martial artists in the movie industry.
