Avatar Re-release Garners Over $30 Million In The Global Box Office

With about 13 years after its debut, the Avatar movie is still gallantly at the top of the international box office. The Avatar re-release has garnered millions of dollars in just its opening weekend and lots of fans are still heading to the theaters to see it, again.

James Cameron’s iconic 2009 sci-fi movie, Avatar, has shown again that it is still the highest grossing movie of all time. The epic movie got remastered and re-released with James Cameron prompting fans of the movie to watch it again. What’s the catch? Well, this Avatar re-release is in 3D, 4k HDR together with a 9.1 surround sound. This is definitely something you wouldn’t want to miss at the cinema.

According to Box Office Mojo, the Avatar re-release garnered a whopping $30.5 million in the three-day weekend. It reportedly made $20.5 million internationally and $10 million at the domestic box office. The Avatar movie still sits like a king on top of the list of highest grossing films of all time with over 2.8 billion dollars. It is just above Avengers: Endgame (2019) and the iconic Titanic (1997), that has earned about 2.7 and 2.1 billion dollars respectively.

We are also positive about the fact that later on, the Avatar movie may surpass the 3-billion-dollar line. This is an achievement that would take over $100 million to become a reality. There are also speculations about how the new Avatar movie may take this trophy. Avatar: The Way of Water, a sequel to the original 2009 movie, does seem like a movie this kind of potential. If done right, it should get a chance to make a new world record and garner over $3 billion.
