HBO just dropped The Last of Us official teaser and lots of fans are loving the amazing adaptation. Both people who have played The Last of Us games and people who have not, are rooting for the upcoming series.
Today (the 26th of September), HBO Max decided to tickle their fans and watchers with a 1 minute 49 seconds teaser. The Last of Us official teaser starts off with Pedro Pascal (Joel) walking down the street, the camera then switches to two warning signs. The first one reminding residents of the curfew hours (6pm – 6am).
“Anyone on the streets without FEDRA approval is subject to immediate arrest”.
The second warning sign on the second hand, foreshadows an important part of the whole series. It says “Report signs of Cordyceps infection”. In the game, Cordyceps is a parasitic fungus that infects the brain and later mutates the whole body in the most horrible way possible. Those with the Cordyceps brain infection are simply called “The Infected”. They are extremely aggressive and at the end of The Last of Us official teaser, we get to see one clearly.
The trailer then shows Joel in what seems to be a post-apocalyptic city, possibly surrounded by lots of Infecteds. The rest of the trailer introduces us to characters like: Ellie, Tess, Tommy, Marlene, Sarah Riley and Bill. Some fans of the games are actually much interested in Ellie’s character, played by Bella Ramsey.

Bella Ramsey In The Last of Us Series
The trailer shows Bella Ramsey as Ellie, a young girl (aged 14) who is actually immune to the Cordyceps infection. In The Last of Us games by Naughty Dog, this character was portrayed by Ashley Johnson. Now that we have Bella on the upcoming live adaptation, we can’t wait to see how well she’d play the character.
She also took to her Twitter account today to share a picture of herself in a T-shirt with “The Last of Us part I” written on it.

Bella Ramsey has starred in some series like Game of Thrones, Hilda and also The Worst Witch. The young actress has also won some notable awards like BAFTA (in 2019) and CinEuphoria Awards (in 2020).
Other Cast Of The Last of Us Series
As we’ve said already, Bella Ramsey will be playing Ellie Williams while Pedro Pascal will play Joe Miller. Other cast of the series include: Anna Torv as Tess, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Nico Parker as Sarah and many others.
The post-apocalyptic series is written and developed by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Druckmann wrote and directed the Last of Us games and he also worked on the Uncharted game. The filming for the series started back in July 2021 and then ended in June 2022.
When Is Last of Us Coming Out?
For those of you asking, we unfortunately do not have a precise date for when it’d release. Although, we do know that the first season will premiere in 2023 but HBO hasn’t said anything about the specific date.
That still doesn’t mean you shouldn’t grab your popcorns and be ready for the live-adaptation debut. From what we’ve seen in The Last of Us official teaser, the series will definitely be awesome.
