David Gordon Green is the director for Halloween Kills and its upcoming sequel, Halloween Ends. In a recent interview with SFX Magazine‘s exclusive Halloween special, he backed his last movie in the franchise. Stating that from the onset, he 100% wanted to make Halloween Kills. The 47-year-old who is also a producer and screenwriter, used the opportunity to share his thoughts on the Halloween Kills reception.

Halloween Ends Director On ‘Kills’ Backlash

Director David Gordon Green has now addressed the Halloween Kills issue for those who still feel pissed about it. Green talked about how this movie was not meant to resolve things but to unravel lots of them. From what we have seen, it looks like the resolving part of this franchise is left in the hands of Halloween Ends.

The Halloween Kills movie intentionally left watchers with unlikable unresolved chaos that producers could exploit in the next movie. This isn’t the first time a director is doing something like this. They often poke holes in the storyline of movies so that the next one can broaden it and reveal lots of interesting ideas.

The Halloween Ends director also stated:

“For me, that’s just part of the fun, and then we get to come in and tidy it up with the last one. So any frustration that was expressed about the last one, I kind of just smile and say, ‘Hold tight, here we come’”.

Halloween Kills currently sits at a rating of 5.5% on IMDb and 39% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 66% on the latter’s platform.
