If you are stoked for the upcoming Netflix Wednesday series, then this update on its second season should get you excited. Apparently, there have been talks by the creators of the new Addams Family series concerning a production of Wednesday season 2.
In a recent Empire interview with Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Gough stated that they are talking about it already. He revealed that he is pretty optimistic on the potential for a Wednesday season 2. Adding that there is definitely more that can be explored in the story and world of the Addams family. Both Gough, Millar and the renowned Tim Burton are executive producers for the upcoming Wednesday series.
Gough also stated that this Wednesday series is actually not a reboot, instead, it will reference the iconic franchise’s history. There have been some animated and live-action adaptation of the Addams family since the macabre characters’ inception in 1938. Some of these spin-offs include: The Addams Family (1991), Addams Family Values (1993), The New Addams Family (1998–1999), The Addams Family (Animated; 2019) and The Addams Family 2 (Animated; 2021). They were all based on characters created by the legendary cartoonist, Charles Addams.
The upcoming Netflix Wednesday series will be about Wednesday Addams herself, who is played by Jenna Ortega. The comedy series will focus on Wednesday’s high school student years at the Nevermore Academy. With her trying to balance her supernatural abilities and adapt to her new school, Wednesday will embark on other thrilling quests. One of them being trying to solve a supernatural mystery that affected her family years ago. She’d also be trying to stop a killing spree happening in the town.
When Is Wednesday Series Coming Out
The Wednesday series will premiere via Netflix on the 23rd of November, 2022. In less than two months, you would be able to sit back, relax and enjoy this epic comedy horror.

As for Wednesday season 2, nothing has been said yet concerning its production but we do know that discussions are being made about it. Two or three years from now, it won’t be surprising to see the second season gracing our screens. If Wednesday season 2 eventually gets a green light, the fans of this franchise will definitely be excited for it.

Jenna Ortega will be playing Wednesday Addams while Luis Guzmán will play Gomez Addams. There were lots of talks and arguments by netizens after Netflix announced Guzmán as Gomez. From what we’ve seen in the trailer, he’s definitely going to nail the role. Other cast for the series include: Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, George Burcea as Lurch, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley and many others.
Other actors and actresses with yet-undisclosed roles in the series include: Jamie McShane, Emma Myers, Gwendoline Christie, Moosa Mostafa, Percy Hynes White and many others. We surely can’t wait much longer to see these wonderful actors and their performance in the series.
